So those Shins fans out there know that the rumors of a new album have been circulating for years but disappointingly false. (Although one of those rumors turned out to be Broke Bells- awesome!) But the official announcement of Port of Morrow came and I was super excited! Then yesterday this was put up on their website...go listen to it now. How awesome it that tape graphic? Oh, and great music as always. (I have listened to it about 20 times already) I am so excited for this release and making us all wait until the END of March after releasing a song and making preorder available, is a little cruel I think. I have been listening to Shins all morning trying to satisfy my current Shins wanting.
The other wanting this has sparked in me is for a reel to reel...how cool would that be? I did not even know that was an option outside of the old recording studios. If you are one of those cool people with a personal reel to reel then you are in luck because you can listen to the new Shins album on it in March. (Isn't it cool?)
In conclusion, this might lead to a Tuesday night voyage to Finders on March 20th because I am so excited to hear all the bits they came up with.
I can't wait for the in between bits!! I will have my rating cards ready!
